John Denver, a singer-songwriter of Colorado who specialized in folk-pop music has touched the hearts of millions. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was raised in Roswell New Mexico. He was enthralled by Colorado. He eventually moved to Aspen. Denver's songs for his home state have drawn many to Colorado. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the curator of this hall of fame said: "I don't believe there is another performer that embodies Colorado in the same way as John Denver." Denver was the Hall of Fames' initial inductee, was honoured with this honor in 2011. Denver is the symbol of Colorado to many all over the world. In all my travels I've encountered many non-Colorado residents. Colorado. They'll beg, "Oh John Denver!" When they hear you're from Colorado. Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads was Denver's top 10 hit after performing with small folk bands. The song was written and performed by Bill Danoff. Danoff had written the song in the spirit of Johnny Cash, but Denver was able to hear an early version and knew the song would be one of the Top 10 hits. The singer recorded the song only a few days afterward after performing it to the awe-inspiring crowd in Washington D.C.
